This two year and six month course is for students wanting a career as a building designer within an architectural practice. Learn the skills, knowledge and application of industry specific software to deliver innovative design solutions for residential and commercial projects. Students will follow a project from conception to completion; through site selection, town planning, contracts and tender.

You will attend classes three days per week between 10:30am - 3pm for the first two years and you need to allow for 20 hours of homework per week. Full time one day and one evening per week for the third and final six months of the course.

Course overview

This course is designed to equip you with the skills & knowledge to design and document residential & commercial buildings. In particular the ability to follow sustainable building design principles, select building materials, present a design, conduct bushfire attack level assessments on a site and apply to a design, comply with building regulations and legislative requirements, architectural project administration and small business planning.This course will be delivered Full Time over 2.5 years. 2019 fees for those eligible for government funding are: The first year will be $4802.40, of which the enrolment fee of $4288.60 can be deferred using the VET student loans scheme leaving $513.00 to be paid up front for the student services/materials. As an indicator only, fees for 2019 Second year students will be $2796.00 ($2419.00 enrolment fee) and fees for 2019 Third year students will be $2160.00 ($1845.00 enrolment fee).
