The Bendigo TAFE Access Scholarship has been designed to provide opportunities for access to education. The scholarship is available to domestic and international students enrolled in any course at Bendigo TAFE. It is intended to alleviate financial pressures associated with engagement and the successful completion of the course.
Applications are open throughout the year.
Eligibility Courses
Students must be enrolled in any course at Bendigo TAFE.
Eligibility/ Selection Criteria
To be eligible for the Bendigo TAFE Access Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria and provide supporting documents
Domestic Students:
1. Available to both Australian and non- Australian residents, and temporary Visa holders (who are enrolled as a domestic student). Must provide evidence of being a enrolled Domestic student.
2. Provide evidence of financial or personal disadvantage. Disadvantage(s) may include:
a. financial difficulty or low-socioeconomic status (Centrelink statement, payslips. Bank statements can be used if the evidence is displayed in a personal statement)
b. have a disability or medical condition (medical certificate/report)
c. experienced delay or interruption to studies due to compassionate reason (death in the immediate family, family violence, homelessness, or at authorised officers’ discretion) evidence – death certificate, eviction notice, personal statement or statutory declaration
3. Currently enrolled and studying at Bendigo TAFE as a domestic student and have current outstanding fees.
International Students:
1. Must hold a valid visa (student visa, temporary graduate visa, spouse visa or anyone paying International Fee)
2. Must be an onshore student, studying as an international student.
3. Provide evidence of financial or personal disadvantage. Disadvantage(s) may include:
a. financial difficulty (payslips, bank statements or statutory declaration)
b. experienced delay or interruption to studies due to compassionate reason(s), which may include but death in the immediate family, family violence, homelessness, or at authorised officers’ discretion Evidence – death certificate, eviction notice, personal statement or statutory declaration
4. Currently enrolled and studying at Bendigo TAFE as an international student and have current outstanding fees.
Scholarship Value
This scholarship is offset towards tuition fees. There are limited scholarships available and the amount is determined on a case-by-case basis.
- Domestic Students: up to $500 per scholarship
- International Students: up to $1,000 per scholarship
How to apply
To apply for the Access Scholarship, applicants must:
1. Complete the International Student or Domestic Student application form.
2. Applicants under 18 years of age need to obtain parent/guardian consent before submitting a scholarship application. The Consent Form can be downloaded for completion and must be attached to your scholarship application at the time of submission.

Terms and Conditions
- Recipients must meet the eligibility criteria outlined above
- Recipients must maintain their enrolment when the scholarship is applied
- Deferring your course will make the scholarship void.
- The scholarship is to be used for one course and cannot be transferred to another course.
- If a student fails a unit of competency from the course, they will incur any enrolment or other fees associated with resitting that unit.
- Insufficient information on an application and supporting documentation can delay the application process and applicants may be removed from the scholarship application list if it is not received in a timely manner.
- Access scholarships provide eligible students with financial assistance to help reduce the total cost of their course-related expenses incurred via agreed Payment Plan arrangement for the year of study at Bendigo TAFE. Scholarships will be awarded based on various factors, i.e. available funding, eligibility, individual need, capacity to complete.
- Scholarships are not redeemable for cash.
- If the successful student is under the age of 18, the applicant must have permission from their parent/guardian before accepting the terms and conditions of the scholarship. Permission form must be attached to scholarship application, otherwise application will be rejected and student instructed to reapply.
- Students who have paid upfront and have no outstanding money owing to Bendigo TAFE will not be eligible to apply.
- Students who submit an application that is incomplete and has not addressed all questions and provided all relevant supporting documentation and certified copies at the time of application i.e. financial income statement, will have their application rejected and will be instructed to reapply.
- The processing of applications can take a while to complete. If applications are provided late (when payment is due), delays will likely occur, affecting enrolment. The student's responsibility is to ensure that their application is sent in 10 working days to ensure that they have enough time to be processed.
- If a student fails a unit of competency from the course, they will incur any enrolment or other fees associated with resitting that unit. If a scholarship has been awarded and a withdrawal/refund has been requested and granted, all scholarship money previously awarded to the applicant/student, will be returned to BKI’s scholarship fund, not the applicant/student.
