Certificate III in Individual Support

About
Learn the Tools of the Trade

If you have a passion for caring for people, want to work in one of the fastest growing industries in Australia, or simply want to learn how to care for older people or people living with a disability, our Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) (CHC33021) course will help you achieve your goals.

We understand your passion for helping others. That's why we've created a course that supports and fosters your enthusiasm.

Caring for individuals requires you to be knowledgeable within a wide range of specialised areas. In 7 months, our course will prepare you for working under supervision in a disability support service, Home and Community care or with a diverse group of clients.

Traineeship: Over the 12 months of the Traineeship, you will learn while you are working in a disability service.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in disability support services and home and community care services who work under supervision and delegation as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

These individuals take responsibility for their own outputs within the scope of their job role and delegation. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support.

Here are just a few things you will learn:

  • Promoting independence and wellbeing
  • Maintaining client’s personal care
  • Support people with disabilities
  • Supporting community participation and social inclusion
  • Understanding client needs

Upon completing our nationally accredited Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) (CHC33021) you have the opportunity to work in a number of areas of your choice, including as a:

  • Disability support worker
  • Home and community care worker

Our course experts will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about our disability course.

Our course delivery features a combination of on-campus and remote (online) learning. This flexibility allows our students to continue to study in a safe, guided and supported manner.
