Fire Danger | Wednesday 28 February 2024

Most parts of Victoria are forecast to experience high, extreme or catastrophic fire conditions on Wednesday 28 February. This may change depending on temperatures on the day. 

As of Tuesday 27 February, the CFA website advises the following fire conditions forecasts for Wednesday:

  • Catastrophic conditions for the Wimmera
  • Extreme conditions for the Mallee, South West, Northern Country, North Central and Central areas
  • High conditions for North East, and West and South Gippsland areas, and 
  • Moderate conditions for East Gippsland.

We encourage you to check your local forecasts and if you are in fire-prone areas, please enact your Fire Plan or take any actions required, and be ready to follow instructions from authorities.

If it is unsafe for you to travel to campus or other areas as part of your study on Wednesday 28 February, please make decisions based on your own safety and your Fire Plan if you have one.
