Last Saturday the Building Designers Association Victoria (BDAV) hosted their Annual Building Design Awards. Bendigo TAFE are extremely proud to announce that we had quite a successful night!
There were three awards Design students were eligible for:
- Best Response to a Design Brief by a Student
- Best Digital Presentation by a Student
- Drafting Excellence by a Student
Two of our students, Bin He and Chloe Brennan did very well! Chloe received a commendation award in the Drafting Excellence by a Student category, while Bin received a commendation award for the Best Digital Presentation by a Student and won the Best Response to a Design Brief by a Student! A simply fantastic result that validates the enormous amount of work that both have put into their studies.
Other students and teachers at Bendigo TAFE also received accolades:

Our sessional teacher Angela McLean finished the course with us at the end of 2010 and now works at CBA Building Designers. She was there on behalf of CBA, and they won the award for a building she designed in the Non-Residential Design – New Project category.
The Building Designers Association of Victoria is a not-for-profit industry body that seeks to represent the interests of building design professionals. With nearly 2,000 members across the State, the Association holds a binding Code of Ethics to all its members as it aims to uphold the highest standards in building design across site analysis, schematic design, design development and contract documentation amongst many other disciplines.
These principles have ensured the BDAV has gained respect and acceptance as an authority on building design issues from both Government Agencies and Industry Groups. They also place a strong emphasis on education and training.
