Bendigo TAFE’s Health and Community Centre of Excellence is taking shape!

Bendigo TAFE is excited to announce that our cutting edge Health and Community Centre of Excellence is progressing swiftly! Construction is on track for completion in January 2018, with the building site visibly growing every day.

“This is a fantastic example of our commitment to connecting students to real employment outcomes” said Bendigo TAFE CEO Trevor Schwenke. “Our Health and Community Centre of Excellence will bring great benefits not just for emerging health and community services students, but for industry and the region too.”

“We believe the new courses in Health, Health Science and Community are a demonstration of the variety that our new Centre offers, and the effort we’re putting in to ensure we deliver high quality training to people in regional areas. We’re doing this by seeking to build a much closer connection between ourselves, our students and the community”

The Centre of Excellence is a comprehensive response to a comprehensive issue facing our society. By bringing best industry and education practice together.

The Centre is designed from the outset to be used for networking, collaboration and advocacy opportunities for all community and health stakeholders in our region from the outset, whilst offering jobs for local people and its premises being used by the community for seminars, meetings and displays.

As part of this, we look forward to our Industry Advisory Board having its first meeting on the 23rd August as we look to cement our new partnerships.

Our Health and Community Centre of Excellence will be looking to build on our already formidable array of health courses in Community Services, Health and Nursing, Children’s Services, Aged Care, Education Support, Dental Assisting, Disability and Work Health and Safety.

These will be supplemented by new courses in Certificate IV in Leisure and Health, Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management, Certificate IV in Health Science Foundations as well as the Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention in collaboration with Melbourne Polytechnic.
