2022 AUSTRALIAN LARGE TRAINING PROVIDER OF THE YEAR

Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute were named Gold recipient – Large Training Provider of the Year at the 2022 Australian Training Awards, following our win at the 2022 Victorian Training Awards.

Students and staff achieved success at State and National awards.

AWARD-WINNING CAMPUS DESIGN IN BENDIGO

Our Bendigo City Campus revitalisation project was awarded The Built Projects – Local and Neighbourhood Scale Prize at the 2022 Australian Urban Design Awards. It also won the Health and Education Landscape — Award of Excellence at the 2022 Landscape Architecture Awards Victoria.

ESSENDON HEALTH HUB OFFICIALLY OPENED IN MARCH 2022

The hub boasts modern state-of-the-art facilities, including simulation labs and has capacity to train more than 900 health students every year.

NEW SPACES AT BENDIGO'S CHARLESTON ROAD CAMPUS

From a new parent room and first aid space, through to a refurbished student recreation area, upgraded classrooms and new outdoor areas, a focus of 2022 was upgrading Charleston Road campus to improve student experience.

2022 MIDSUMMA PRIDE MARCH: INCLUSIVITY AT THE HEART OF CULTURE

We launched our Journey to Inclusive Leadership program, five-year Diversity Charter, Gender Equality Action Plan and progressed our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan.

MOTORSPORT STUDENT SHIVOHN AT PENRITE OIL SANDOWN SUPERSPRINT

Shivohn Carroll was one of our many motorsport students who had an opportunity to work in the pit lane in 2022.

FASHION DEVOTION: STUDENT DESIGNS ON SHOWCASE

Part of the 2022 Melbourne Fashion Week line up, our Fashion Devotion runway show presented more than 80 student designs. 

INDUSTRY TRAINING WITH OASIS HORTICULTURE

70 new commercial agreements were rolled out across 2022, including training delivered to more than 30 participants from Oasis Horticulture.

ACCELERATING ELECTRIC VEHICLE TRAINING

We trained more than 230 technicians on electric vehicle safety at our Automotive Centre of Excellence in Docklands.

HOSTED THE INDIAN EDUCATION MINISTER AT OUR AUTOMOTIVE CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE

We welcomed Indian Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and his delegation at our Automotive Centre of Excellence in Docklands. We're currently working with the International Automobile Centre of Excellence (iACE) in Gujurat, India to deliver world-class automotive programs and teacher training. 

JOBS AND SKILLS ROUNDTABLE IN BENDIGO

Hon Brendan O’Connor, Minister for Skills and Training, and Lisa Chesters MP, Federal Member for Bendigo, held a Jobs and Skills roundtable at Bendigo City campus.

LAUNCH OF 2022 VICTORIAN SKILLS PLAN

Hon Gayle Tierney, Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education, launches the 2022 Victorian Skills Plan at our Automotive Centre of Excellence in Docklands.

Victorian TAFE Association State Conference in Bendigo

The annual Victorian TAFE Association State Conference was held at Bendigo City Campus and Bendigo Town Hall. The two-day conference was attended by more than 140 delegates and included a students’ skills showcase on campus. Themed Leading Through Change, the conference saw sector leaders gather to discuss contemporary issues, convey big picture ideas, communicate trends and engage in collaborative consultation.

Indigenous mural completed at Essendon

A mural by Indigenous artists Alex Kerr and Ashley Kerr-Firebrace was completed at Essendon campus library, sprucing up the learning space for our students.
