Important Information: Protected Industrial Action

Periodically, Victoria’s twelve TAFEs work in conjunction with the Victorian TAFE Association (VTA) to negotiate new enterprise bargaining agreements for teaching and professional staff. These agreements set out the pay and conditions for staff.

That process is taking place now.

Bendigo TAFE has received notice that some Australian Education Union members may engage in protected industrial action commencing from 6am on Monday 22 April 2024.

At this time, industrial action will be focused on more administrative functions and is not expected to have widespread impact on classes.

There may be visual or physical demonstrations around campus/on your site (e.g. posters, teachers wearing t-shirts etc). At this stage work stoppages are not being implemented.

As soon as we receive any further information about further impacts we will update this webpage.

We will also inform our students and key stakeholder directly via regular communications channels. Bendigo TAFE is committed to working with stakeholders to put in place any mitigating measures necessary in light of protected industrial action.

Bendigo TAFE recognises the right of a team member to choose whether to participate in protected industrial action and respects the right of staff to express their voice.

For enquiries please phone 13 TAFE (8233).
