Respect and Equality at TAFE: A Place for Everyone

Bendigo TAFE is proud to affirm its commitment to respect, equality and inclusion through the release of a public statement and a series of planned activities for students and staff.

Issued on behalf of the Executive Leadership team of Bendigo Kangan Institute, the statement reaffirms Bendigo TAFE’s commitment to promoting gender equity and eradicating gender-based violence.

The full statement is available to view on Bendigo TAFE’s website or through this link.

In unison with other Victorian TAFEs, Bendigo TAFE will be championing Respect and Equality at TAFE Week from Monday 15 April to Friday 19 April on campus and online.

Students and staff are invited to engage in various activities aimed at preventing gender-based violence and promoting gender equality.

This includes an online panel event on 15 April led by advocate Tarang Chawla (keynote speaker) and representatives from Our Watch and Respect Victoria. A Respect & Equality at TAFE Event will be held at Bendigo City Campus on 16 April featuring a performance by Feminista Melbourne and cellist Caerwen Martin, a stall by Respect Victoria and other activities. If you are a staff member or a student at Bendigo TAFE, please check the staff/student portal for details.
