Tomorrow Bound Careers Expo is back for its fourth year

Bendigo’s leading careers expo, Tomorrow Bound, will open its doors to over 2,000 secondary students on Thursday, 26 May.

Major sponsors Bendigo TAFE, LaTrobe University, AFS & Associates, Bendigo & District Aboriginal Co-operative and Fosterville Gold Mine have come together to bring this free career expo to Bendigo.

The expo, which will showcase the variety of career, training and employment opportunities that exist in the Greater Bendigo region, will have a particular focus on the growing sectors where a high demand for skilled workers is anticipated in the near future.

Over 70 exhibitors will be on hand to provide expert advice on finding a job or choosing the right training pathway. Exhibitors include TAFE and University, local employers, job agencies, Group Training Organisations and other employment educational support services and will provide students and teachers will have the opportunity to speak to leading career practitioners about their career pathway options after secondary school.

Bendigo TAFE CEO, Sally Curtain, said she was proud to involved in the Tomorrow Bound Careers Expo, and of the support it can offer the next generation of the Bendigo workforce.

“Bendigo TAFE is excited to be bringing Tomorrow Bound to Bendigo for its fourth year,” Bendigo TAFE CEO, Sally Curtain, said.

“Whether you are leaving school, looking to up-skill or looking to completely change your career, Tomorrow Bound will provide you with the insight you need to take the next step in your career,” she said. 

“We know the impact VET can have on individuals and industries, and we are proud to provide the Bendigo community with the support and guidance they need to step into the workforce and support their industry,” she said.

In addition to one-on-one training advice, there will be seminars, live demonstrations, and hands-on activities for attendees to get a feel of work within different sectors. For example, those interested in hospitality can try their hand at making rice paper rolls, and engineering enthusiasts can test their mettle on welding simulators. 

Bendigo TAFE will be showcasing the many courses and pathway opportunities offered, including health, community services, trades and animals, plants and sciences.
