Study Options

VCAL

Some students leave school seeking an alternative to secondary school studies. If you have left school or you are looking to return to study with a pathway to employment and further study, our VCAL study option could be perfect for you.

At Bendigo TAFE, we have specifically designed our VCAL program to also give young mothers the opportunity to continue their studies in a safe, supportive learning environment. This program provides an excellent opportunity to connect with industry leaders in an inspiring environment and allows young mums to be work ready and well equipped to enter the workforce.

Indigenous Studies

Bendigo TAFE has created exciting a vocational and training pathway for Indigenous students through the growth of culturally appropriate and highly supportive education. Our strong partnerships with schools, youth-focused service providers and the Indigenous community across Victoria provide a wide range of education opportunities for young people. Bendigo TAFE delivers a varied range of tailored courses and offers students a safe, secure and comfortable environment to learn and progress their personal and professional development for a bright and successful future.

VET in School (VETIS)

VETIS offers students the opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification which also provides credit towards your VCAL. The study score you receive will contribute directly to your ATAR score enabling you access to various study pathways.

Certificates

Our certifications combine theory and practical components of your subject choice to prepare you for a job in your chosen industry. Students will learn basic to advanced skills as they progress through to each level of certification. With a certificate, you can choose to further your studies or get a post-trade qualification once completed.

Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas

A diploma or advanced diploma will help students progress their career with specialised industry specific knowledge and gain employment at a more skilled, specialised or paraprofessional level.

Pre-Apprenticeships

If you are currently doing a VCE, VCAL or you have left school early, choosing to study a pre-apprenticeship will get you on your way to employment, further studies and a full-time apprenticeship in your specific industry. Pre-apprenticeships also combine literacy and numeracy skills to give you extra support towards your study.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships

An apprenticeship is an agreement between you, your employer and Bendigo TAFE. This means you can earn while you learn and work towards becoming qualified.

Short Courses

A short course is an extremely popular way to update your current skills, or maybe to learn something completely new. Bendigo TAFE offers a number of short courses to help you grow professionally or personally.
